monday {vacation} motivation

I know, I know... I shouldn't be dreaming about summery vacations just yet but I just can't help it today! Over the weekend I booked my flight for a 3 day June getaway to beautiful Bermuda!

My sister is having her wedding there and we're all heading out to celebrate with her and her fiance. J can't go with me, but it will be a wonderful time nonetheless! I plan on spending a lot of time here...

So, I think just dreaming of my Bermuda days is giving me my motivation to get through this chilly busy week. It's also giving me motivation to eat healthy and get some work outs in!

happy {chilly} weekend

Happy Friday! Do you have any big plans for this weekend?  I'm hoping to relax and enjoy the winter a bit! Maybe a big cup of hot chocolate? We shall see!

weekend reading

I still haven't had a chance to flip through the much awaited Matchbook Mag so you can imagine how anxious I am getting about it! I did spend a few minutes with it the other day but I can't wait for the time to really sit down and read through it all this weekend...

I think I'm most excited for the 50 classics for your wardrobe spread! I've been needing a list like this for quite a while now!

and then of course... Rue Mag just released its 3rd issue so I'm itching to flip through that as well!

I'm thinking of making some some coffee, stealing my husbands laptop and curling up on the couch to spend some quality times with my favorite online magazines. Couldn't ask for more! (Well, someone hand-feeding me raspberry truffles would be nice too... but I don't think I'll be getting that anytime soon).

PS - Many congrats to Katie, Jane and Fallon for the first issue of Matchbook! So excited for y'all! And congrats to my fellow classmate Natalie for being a contributor. I was stunned to see your name grace the pages as well!

little gents

I can't get enough of these little ties from baby by stevie. I think I'm a real sucker for the gingham and seersucker ones. I applaud any and all little boys who wear these. Such little gentlemen!

Reading {Mansfield Park}

Mansfield Park by Jane Austen

You may remember that a little while ago I asked for some help when it came to choosing an audio book to listen to while I was working. I decided to go with Mansfield Park. Before this book I had read Pride & Prejudice, Persuasion (my favorite) and Emma. I wasn't so sure about Mansfield Park, but it was a wonderful read!

Fanny Price is a quiet, humble and modest young girl who lives with her aunt and uncle (and spoiled cousins) at Mansfield Park. The story follows her as she grows into a young woman, falling in love and breaking hearts.  Like any other Jane Austen novel there is an elopement, a proposal turned down and that wonderful moment when the love interest of the heroine realizes that he loves her too. Some of the characters you find annoying in the beginning grow on you by the end of the book.  I think my favorite part of the story is when Fanny realizes the true meaning of what home is.

Have you read Mansfield Park? What did you think?

Oh and what's your favorite Austen novel? I love knowing everyone's favorites!

vintage tuesday {type}

I know Mr. B has been itching for a typewriter for a while now so I've been on the hunt for a vintage one that actually works. Now, I don't think he'd really like Smith Corona but I know I would! I'm still looking for the perfect one for him, but if he ever wants to get me one to add to a collection this would be it! It would look wonderful in my future workspace (that is so beautifully worked up in my mine).

monday {all you need} motivation

via

Now that my busy season is officially underway, I will be need a LOT more motivation. I just keep thinking of how quickly the time will pass and before you know it, Spring will be here and tax day will have come and gone! Starting every  morning with a cup of tea has proven very effective so far. Now for the warm socks...

hello friday!

via
 I'm home alone this weekend while J is off camping with his boy scout troop. Have I mentioned that he's an assistant scoutmaster? Kind of cute, right? Either way, while he's freezing in his knickers, I'll be taking the opportunity to catch up on some crafting and sewing! I have a few little projects that I'm working on and hopefully I can get enough done to show you some of them soon! I'm so inspired by yellow songbird's new sewing workspace that she made in a closet. I don't have space for anything like that right now... but I can only imagine the creations I will make once I do!!!
