ruffled orange

I'm absolutely loving this Orange Ruffled dress from Shabby Apple. It's so beautifully fall I can't stand it! And its in my favorite shade of orange - nice and burnt! (Quick love and shout out to all those down at UT!). I noticed that I don't have too many fall dresses... any tips on some good ones?

save-on-crafts

Have you been to the Save On Crafts site yet? It has just about any craft supply you can imagine, and it's cheap! I can't believe I haven't mentioned it yet... I used it for my wedding just last fall!

I would love some of these for a project!
I used these in our centerpieces

These would be a nice addition to my Christmas wrapping!
New meaning to decorating with oranges!

Go check out the site - I'm almost positive you'll find things you love there! Or at least you'll find some inspiration!

indian summer

via
I'm so grateful that it is finally Friday... I'm once again in much need of relaxing weekend. Sometimes I feel like I can't get enough of them!  Oh, and lets talk about this little Indian Summer we've been having... it was in the high 80s all week! I will be very relieved tomorrow when the high is back in the 60s.

Do you have any big plans for the weekend? Hopefully you're doing something very Fall! I want to pick some apples so I can get crackin' on that apple raspberry pie I want to make... Can't wait to hear what y'all are doing!

stylish daughter

I cannot get over how adorable this little girl is... How is it possible that a child can be more chic looking than most grown women? I know she definitely is looking better than me on most days! Remind me to get a trench coat, some rolled up jeans and additional ballet flats next time I go shopping... maybe a bubble wand too.

the list

Happy First Day of Fall!

I've been wanting to tell y'all about my fall list for so long, but I decided to hold off until it was official.  I had to leave something for the actual day, right? My list is super laid back, and if it doesn't get done, I won't be too bummed. The most important thing is that I take advantage of the season, I soak it all in and enjoy it. I don't want to spend it inside and I don't want to waste it away... so if I notice that I'm not fully indulging in my favorite season, I'll pick something off the list and run! Here we go!

Bake an apple raspberry pie

Watch out Mom, this is my Thanksgiving contribution if it works (but don't worry, its a Betty Recipe I have, not Martha. I wouldn't dream to bring Martha to your table)!

Go to a fall festival - at least once!

via Trax Farms - I will make it this year!

Make a delicious dish with butternut squash

Any recipe ideas?

Drink some warm apple cider

Go for a walk in the park just to see the leaves

via

Open the windows while I'm cooking
Nothing like a warm oven and a cool breeze!

Rekindle my love for brown and
indulge in my new love for orange

wedding photo thanks to Glenna

Have you made a list yet? Care to share? I may need more ideas for my own! Until then... enjoy the fall!

our trip

I wanted to give you all a quick look into our biking trip we took this weekend! We went camping a little ways out of the city and spent all day Saturday biking from camp to a nearby town and back. Beware - lots of pictures!

Our first stop was right as the trail was beginning on a high level bridge over the Yough River. We really had only been on our bikes for about a minute, but we had to stop to take some pics.

So we went over the river and through the woods... and then over the river again to the quaint town of Ohiopyle, PA. We had to stop in to fill up my tires with air, but we didn't really enjoy the town until our way home.

Then we started on the official trail... 11 miles with nothing but woods and a river.

We didn't stop too much on the way to town because we were itching to get some lunch, so we'll skip straight ahead until lunch! The town of Confluence is right on the trail (well, we had to cross back over the river again) and it has a few cute little restaurants. We looked at the map and picked one...

If you think the outside is adorable, then you'll love the inside! J and I decided that if we ever are lucky enough to have a second home in a trail town on a river, we would want it decorated the very same way. It was full of old photographs, dried flowers and vintage accents... check out the old books on the table and the vintage bathing suit hanging in the bathroom. Loved it!

After that we headed to an antique store right down the street and sadly I wasn't able to buy anything (the chances of it making back to camp was slim to none!), but I'll show you some of my faves...

Then we started our trip back... a little more leisurely this time.  Here were a few of my favorite spots:

a popular fishing spot
the coolest, most relaxing rock ever.
most beautiful part of the trail - look at those leaves!
so beautiful.

At the end of our trip (I'm not going to lie, it was a little miserable for me... I tried hard not to complain but my rear was hurting!) we made a quick stop in Ohiopyle to run into the store and visit the falls.

Then after a lonnnng trek uphill, we settled back into camp, made some dinner, had some s'mores and enjoyed the weather and the roaring campfire!

Overall, it was a beautiful fall weekend!  I hope you all enjoyed the pictures (and I didn't bore you too much with them)! On that note, have a good last official day of summer... can't wait for tomorrow!
