I'm off to my hometown in upstate New York to attend the wedding of my older cousin and an old childhood friend of mine. It will be so exciting to see all of my family as well as the friends I left behind when we moved south! In honor of the momentous occasion (we've been waiting for the day for years), here are a few pics from my fave wedding that I saw over at Ruffled.

back to school

J goes back to school on Monday and so we've been spending time stocking up on notebooks, folders and his favorite pens. Makes me miss going back to school myself!

What was your favorite part of going back to school? Mine was always new pens and pencils. Oh, and a new planner! I look forward to having kids in elementary school again... I miss being able to go back to school shopping the real way!

I've always been in love with emeralds being that it is my birthstone (not to mention the fact that I loved the Wizard of Oz and my roots from the Emerald Isle).  When I was a kid I had the cutest little faux emerald jewelry pieces and now years later, I'm dying for something a little more grown-up. How about this?

Snazzy, huh? If I had $675 to throw around, I'd have it already. Isn't it so classy looking?

Aren't all these cookies from Sugar & Flour just adorable? I'm definitely a sucker for decorated sugar cookies (as I live in the hometown of Smiley Cookies!) and I try desperately to make them myself. I just haven't mastered royal icing yet! These cookies make me want to throw a shower or a kid's party with these as favors! They'd also be great on a cookie table at a wedding, no?

I think my favorite are definitely the elephants, which are yours?

Remember Katie Holmes in another cast J.Crew ad? I use to have a small bulletin board covered in these pics of the Dawson's Creek cast... I don't think I realized how much that TV show would affect my future style!
