ex libris

J and I have a massive collection of books. Well, as I mentioned yesterday, he has a massive collection of books and I have a few. I've been dying for a great set of bookplates.I can't decide if I want to go with the normal adhesive bookplates, or if I should get a rubber stamp one instead. While the stick-on's are adorable, the stamp does make a bit more sense since our library is growing constantly...

What do you think? Stamp or sticker? If I go with a sticker, it will just be for me, but if I go with a stamp it will definitely be for the family (even if there are only two of us now!). Ohhh, I can't decide.

my space

I've been trying to make my desk at home (which is cramped between a bookshelf and a dresser in our bedroom) feel a little more like "my" space. J has a whole room to himself and his 1300 books (yes, that is a accurate estimate as he just recently counted) but my space is in our bedroom. So needless to say, I've been trying to add a few more personal touches to it.

Here is my dream desk... with differences of course, but the organized clutter? Totally me.

Right now though, I have nothing of the sort. My biggest fall back is my bright red University of Wisconsin mouse pad. No, I have absolutely no attachment to the Badgers. However, once upon a time I needed a mouse pad at work and my dear friend gave me this one. I have yet to part with it...

Now, it is time. Here are some options I'm considering... any thoughts?

Teal and White Damask

Green and White Leaves

Black and White Damask

Blue and Cream Branches

My biggest worry is that I don't know what color scheme I want. Our bedroom is navy and gold, but I don't necessarily want my desk life to mimic that as I would hope that in a couple of years my work area will be OUT of the bedroom! I'm leaning towards the blue and the teal...

vintage tray

I always loved the idea of having a little tray on an entry-way table to toss keys or mail in when you walk in the door. Wouldn't one of these cute vintage trays be perfect for this?

I think I would love best to take an old wooden tray and line it with a pretty fabric on the inside. Which would you go with?

monday inspiration {i'm back}

via flickr

Good morning! How was your weekend? It feels so good to be back in the blogging world after my little break. I had a lot of time to refresh my mind and get back on track with life!

One thing I did while I was away was spend some time at the sewing machine. I'm definitely no pro just yet, but I think I'm getting there! I have so many more projects brewing in my mind - I cannot wait to get them done.

... a bit of a break.

Hello everyone! I hate to do this, but I think that I am going to take this week off. A little blogger vacation to rejuvenate my mind! Until then, I'll leave you with our regularly scheduled Monday inspiration.

via Poppytalk

I'm loving all of the colors... and something seems so organized about the ties! It's definitely an inspiration as I am about to spend a week or so trying to organize my life! Enjoy the week and I can't wait to catch back up with everyone soon. In the meantime, if you really miss me, you can still follow me on twitter!

much needed friday

Hello dears - here we are at the end of another week! This one felt like it took forever! Maybe because it was a normal week after two four-day weeks? Probably so. What are y'all up to this weekend? J and I are heading to Ohio tomorrow for yet another wedding! This time, it is one of my dear friends from college, so it will be wonderful to be back together with all of my Saint Mary's girls... oh how I love them!

reunion at the wedding - with our class rings!

Aside from partying pretty hard tomorrow, I actually hope to get some relaxing in this week. I've been so tired lately and I need to catch up! I hope to have some cute posts up next week, so stay tuned!!!

{french twist}

Despite the fact that I already posted an adorable toile bedding set today, I totally forgot it was Bastille Day until Jane reminded me! So to honor the day, bask in all things French...

send a sweet note to a friend
whip up some French cuisine a la Julia Child in this apron

hang your coat on these fleur de lis hooks!
play Pin the Tail on Genevieve - come on, you know you love Madeline

hang this beautiful piece on your wall

Enjoy celebrating (or merely remembering) the beginning of the French Revolution!

sweet dreams

I get bored with my bedding very easily. Every week I find myself searching through online shops to see what new bedding is out there. I even changed the bedding on our wedding registry about 4 times before J and I finally settled on something. Here are a few cute finds from this week:

Lacoste Mistral Bedding

Marimekko Tamburiini Bedding at Crate & Barrel

Matine Toile Bedding in Sprout Green at Pottery Barn

I'm starting to think that our next change in bedding should actually be a solid colored comforter (think, The Company Store anyone?!?) that way I can change up the sheets and pillows to get my change instead of having to redo the whole room! Good idea right? Maybe in a few years.

Do you have any favorite bedding collections? Right now J and I have a gorgeous blue and gold (okay, okay, we bleed blue and gold, Go Irish!) set from Nautica.
